Jonny Bierman — Founder of Eco Escape Travel
Jonny Bierman
Jonny is the founder and lead of Eco Escape Travel and one of Canada’s most versatile voices at the intersection of destination marketing and travel journalism. With bylines in TIME Magazine, National Geographic, Condé Nast Traveler, BBC Travel, Vogue, Travel + Leisure, and Lonely Planet — and as co-author of the Lonely Planet British Columbia & the Canadian Rockies guidebook (2024 & 2026 editions) — he brings a journalist’s instinct for story to every marketing brief. He has spent over a decade helping DMOs, hospitality, and tourism operators tell stories that connect on a human level — turning values, landscapes, products, and cultures into communications that drive visitation, loyalty, and lasting emotional connection.
Eco Escape Travel is a Vancouver-based destination marketing and sustainable brand storytelling agency operating at the intersection of travel journalism and marketing. We help DMOs, accommodations, and tourism operators find their story — and tell it in a way that builds trust, drives bookings, and creates lasting impact. Our work spans narrative strategy, content creation, and campaign development, grounded in nearly a decade of on-the-ground experience across Alberta, British Columbia, Canada, and internationally.
